This 3 1/2″ tall St. Lucy peg saint is a painted in a flame colored gown, with a wreath of candles on her head. St. Lucy is often depicted holding her eyes on a tray.
St. Lucy vowed her life to the service of Christ. Her mother tried to arrange her marriage to a pagan. She was found to be a Christian and was tortured and killed under the Christian persecutions of Diocletian. Legend has it that her eyes were gouged out at that time. St. Lucy is the Patron saint of blindness. Feast day: December 13.
