Hand-cut stained glass, gold smalti on MDF substrate. 9 X 12. Wired for hanging. Feast day: September 23. Patron of Civil defense volunteers, Adolescents, Pietrelcina, Stress relief, & January blues.

After reading a book about Padre Pio, I felt compelled to make this glass mosaic of his image. Padre Pio was an amazing saint who suffered the stigmata. Mosaic is made from hand-cut art glass and 24K gold smalti on medum density fiberboard. It measures 9″x12″ and is wired for hanging. Edges are finished with thinset and painted brown. Padre Pio died on September 23, 1968. He is the Patron Saint of Civil defense volunteers, adolescents, Pietrelcina, stress relief, and January blues.

I am an artist and often hear at mass to give of “time, talent, and treasure.”  I am dedicated to always making something that celebrates my faith, whether a painted saint doll or a fine art mosaic of the Holy Family.
