These pocket oratories are used to help enhance your prayer life.
They are made out of linen inside and wool felt on the outside.
Description
The pocket oratory was made popular in the 1800’s as a type of traveling altar. It was used much as they are today, by workers and travelers who may not be close to a Church when they’d like to pray.
There is significance of the position of each item. I worked closely with iconographer David Clayton, who has given me the following information: As Christ on the Cross is the center of our Faith, so the crucifix is the center of the oratory. To the right should be a picture of Christ glorified or the Holy Face of Jesus. To the left should be an image of Our Lady. These three images are the heart of every pocket oratory.
Each special custom made oratory allows the customer a choice of configuration along with up to two Saints, images of Mary and Jesus as well as the prayer of their choice.

Nanci creates the most amazing pocket oratories! I have 2 custom Triptych style for our home and I have ordered 1 other for a terminally ill step-mother back home in America. All of them are so beautiful and very well made. I love that these old-fashioned oratories are being revived in this uber-digital age when so many physical things have become images on a screen! I have found that my own prayer life is given a much needed and very powerful boost whenever I carry these oratories on my person while out and about, and also at home: a busy farm with three young children… not much silence available! And so these Triptych oratories really help me to focus! They’ve gone with me even into the barns in the wee hours of the morning while lambs or calves are being born and there seems to be endless work to do and I am so exhausted and worn out… but then I can sit for a few minutes and pray or even just sit there staring in a daze at the oratory (too tired to do anything else!) and I find such peace and joy in that moment! I would say that from my experience these little treasures will bring anyone many blessings in their daily lives. My ill step-mother, now departed, was given such peace whenever she held her own Triptych during those long painful days. I pray now that my father might pick it up and contemplate Christ and maybe by some miracle he might become Catholic too. Wherever they go, these little pocket oratories bring so much happiness. I wish I could give 10 stars!
