The pendant includes a pink tube of water from the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Lourdes, France and a pewter finish St. Clare of Assisi medal. St. Clare of Assisi was a devoted follower of St. Francis of Assisi and cared for him when he was sick. She dedicated her life to prayer and austerity and eventually other women would join her. This group of ladies who lived a life very limited in luxury became known as the Poor Clares or the Order of Poor Ladies of San Damiano.
