Description

There are many stories of St. Therese sending roses to those she has interceded for. Inspired by St. Therese’s generosity and her gift of flowers, here is a crochet rose pattern which can be given to a child or adult in need of your prayer and support, especially if they are facing a serious illness or situation.

The roses can be attached to bobby pins, hair clips or if a long tail is left, braided directly into the hair, depending on the size flower. Additionally, they can be sewn on to headbands, hats, bracelets, bookmarks or simply placed in a pocket to be held whenever that person needs an extra boost of love and courage.

Through your gift of a rose, you can be a messenger of love.

This is a beginner crochet pattern which uses Bernat Handicrafter Super Fine Yarn Perfect Red and a crochet hook B/1-2.25mm. The finished flower is approximately 1.5″ across. If it is your first time using a hook this small, you might want to make this flower with a larger hook size and yarn to get a feel for the pattern.

10% of the profits from this pattern are donate to the Les Turner ALS Research and Patient Center Research Clinical Fund. You can find out more about ALS and the research center at http://www.feinberg.northwestern.edu/sites/alsresearch/. An additional 10% will be donated to our local parish which truly is our Catholic family, our home away from home.

Hi, my name is Kate. I am an Air Force wife and mom of 3 beautiful children. I started crocheting early in life sitting in next to my great-grandmother. I also have a BA and MA in religious studies and am passionate about Catholicism. I decided to start this venture as a way to combine these two loves in a way I have not seen before. I hope that you find these patterns not only easy to use but also inspires, informs and enhances your overall prayer experience.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions about the patterns or prayers or if you have ideas for what you would like to see more of.

God bless

-Kate
