Are you looking to bring more faith (and less commercialism) to your Advent and Christmas season? Would you like to celebrate the days leading up to Christmas in a meaningful – yet fun – way with your family?
This printable eBook contains over 80 pages of detailed ornament templates, daily scripture readings (with links to full text), devotions, coloring pages, and family-friendly activities inspired by the scripture to help your family count down the days of Advent in a spiritual way. At the end of the book you’ll find instructions with photos on how to create the felt tree .
Each day, families have the option of creating an ornament in an unlimited number of ways, which means they can select the option that is best for them. From the “I’m not crafty at all” to the “I hand make everything”, we’ve got you covered! Ornaments can be made by:
– cutting out and decoupaging or laminating the ornament photo to cardstock
– printing out the coloring page onto cardstock, coloring or painting, and cutting out the ornament
– cutting out the templates and piecing together, using construction paper and glue, craft foam and glue, felt and fabric glue or felt and embroidery floss and hand sewing
– anything else you think of!
The 25 “days” are broken into three pages per day:
– the first page contains activities, suggested Bible readings, a summary (takeaway) of the readings, a tie-in of the story to Jesus, and a short prayer. You can pick and choose which of these activities are best for your family, as well as supplement or change the readings.
– the second page has the materials you will need to make the ornament
– the third page has – at the top – a coloring sheet which is perfect for crayons, colored pencils, paints, markers, or any other medium you choose. Below that are the ornament templates for printing and cutting should you be making the ornaments from construction paper, card stock, craft foam, or felt.
I hope this beautiful book gives you and your family many ways to choose from to celebrate Advent and prepare for Christ’s birth!

1 review for Family Activity Book: Our Family’s Jesse Tree (Advent/Christmas)
Message Faith and Fabric
Welcome to my corner. My name is Jen Frost. Faith and Fabric is my way of sharing projects I make in the hope that they inspire you be creative, too. I believe that there is something very personal in creating a beautiful item that reflects and retains a bit of you that wasn’t there before. I have loved creative projects for as long as I can remember, and find inspiration from both the everyday things around us. My faith is central to my family’s life and is often reflected in my work (and parenting. and relationships.). This is how Faith and Fabric was born. A desire to share my faith in a creative way – both the awesome projects and the mistakes! – and learn from you. You’ll find lots of quilting and crafting ideas to celebrate your faith – as well as a few small business strategies, too.
A quick side-story? Our priest, a few years ago for Christmas, asked, “If your home were to be visited by someone who had never heard of Christmas before, would they think – based on your decor – that Christmas was a day celebrating snowmen? A large man in a red suit? Consumerism? Or the birth of Christ?” This resonated *so much* for our (ahem) snowman-heavy house. Since then, I’ve been inspired to make faith-focused projects – both fabric and not – for the home to help remind us throughout the year what we are celebrating.
Thanks for joining me on this adventure, and I’d love to partner with you along the way.
Jen

I enjoyed making these awesome felt Jesse Tree ornaments. They were easier than I thought…and NO SEW with iron-on adhesive! I can’t wait to dig these ornaments out year after year!
