Satin Cross Tea Towel

Hi! I am a Catholic Grandmother, retired math teacher, and seamstress!

I first learned to sew from my Mom and my grandmother. Mom made many of my clothes. She would allow me to sit on the sewing chair, crowding her – I am sure! I could watch that needle pierce fabric for hours! After all, I was getting a new outfit!

When my grandmother would visit, she was always working on a gift of hand embroidery!

In high school and college, my entire wardrobe was hand-made. While in college, it was nothing for me to walk to the corner fabric store early in the week and have a new outfit for the following weekend activities. My roommates were amazed.

I continued sewing for my children, I especially enjoyed smocking and sewing french lace. I chuckle every time I remember the Principe at the preschool sending a note home asking that the children not be sent to school in their Sunday best. But, that was all my daughter owned – she loved wearing the pretty dresses.

Today I enjoy quilting as well as embroidery. And, I love our wonderful faith. Thank you for visiting – God Bless.
